Frequently Asked Questions

Is a rounded pool more expensive than a recangular pool?

Pools are priced based on the perimiter length. A rounded pool has the corners taken off and therefore a 30' x 20' rounded pool is less expensive that a recangular pool with the same overall dimension.

When is the best time to build a pool?

There really isn't a best time to build a pool. You can build one any time of the year. Rain will delay construction, but that is the only problem.

Does a pool increase the value of my house?

Most definately, but installing a pool is not a financial investment, but rather an investment in your lifestyle. Typically in the first 4 years, selling your house will return a very high percentage of the cost of a pool. After this time, the pool will depreciate. By how much, varies greatly from area to area. The best source of information is a realtor that works in your area.

How long does it take to build a pool?

Typically 6 weeks if there are no delays.

How much does a pool cost?

There is no straight answer to this question. It is like asking how much does a house cost. Prices range from tens of thousands to millions of dollars. Rest assured we will help you choose the pool that is right for you and meets your budget.

Do I need a fence around my pool?

Most areas require that you have a perimeter fence around your pool or yard area that is latched. Check your local housing association, a local realtor or county for specific restrictions.

Can I get insurance if I have a diving board or a slide?

If you have a diving board or stone in a pool with adequate depth, you can get liability insurance. The same is not the case for slides. It is our policy not to furnish slides for our pools due to safety issues.

How much does running a pool increase my electricity bill?

Expect to pay around $38/month more while running your pool equipment.

How much does it cost to heat a pool?

There are many factors involved including the initial temperature of the water, the air temperature and most significantly, how windy it is. If the heater is running on full, it costs around $1.12 per hour. A pool takes around 12 hours to bring up to a comfortable temperature, so expect to pay around $15.

How much effort does it take to maintain a pool?

Modern pools are very easy to maintain. If you apply the principle of little and often, you will never encounter problems with your pool. Checking and adjusting chemical balance, emptying filters and sweeping the surface of your pool weekly will keep your pool in pristene condition. Every 2-3 months, expect to spend additional time cleaning the filter. Of course you can always have someone maintain your pool for you if you don't have the time.
